The Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw semifinished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used.
The Oeko-Tex tests for harmful substances are fundemantally based on the respective purpose of the textiles and materials.The more intensive the skin contact of a product,and the more sensitive the skin,the stricter the human ecological requirements that need to be complicated with:
ECOpassport by Oeko-Tex is an independent testing and certification system for chemicals,colourants and auxiliaries used to manufacture textiles.
Aims of the detox campaigne: Precautionary principles Companies take responsibilty over the production chain. Aiming at toxic-free production from 2020 Companies publish verifiable milestones,intermediate targets and test results. Extended producers responsibility(EPR) on whole life cycle of products.
The aim of the standard is to define worldwide recognized requirements that ensure organic status of textile from harvesting of raw materials,through enviromentally and sociallly responsible manufacturing up to labelling in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.Textile processor and
and manufacturers are enabled to export their organic fabrics and garments.Only textile products that contain a minimum of 70% organic fibers can become
GOTS certified.
All chemical inputs such as dyestuffs and auxiliaries used meet certain environmental and toxicological criteria. A functional waste water tretment plant is mandatory for any wet-processing unit involved and all processors must comply with social criteria.
Criteria accepted for the organic fibers comply with recognised international or national standars(IFOAM family of standards,EEC 834/207,USDA,NOP)

EU Ecolabel having the EU flower surrounded by 12 blue stars is established in 1992 and recognised across Europe and worlwide,the EU Ecolabel is a label of environmental excellence that is rewarded to products and services meeting high environmental standards throughout their life cycle, from raw material extraction,to production,distribution and disposal.
CTW/INDITEX adhered to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals(ZDHC) commitment to minimize the environmental impact of the production and
to improve the health of garments and the safety of the employees in the supply chain.
Since then, CTW/INDITEX has oriented its strategies to control and improve of manufacturing towards eliminating hazardous chemical substances before January 2020.
